It is in this era more than ever before that Men's Health be given greater attention. The scope of this area of medicine is still largely under defined It is important therefore that medical experts be drawn together to discuss the key issues that impact the delivery of health care services for men especially aging men as men tend to die earlier than women when they age & when they fall sick, the morbidity for them tend to be worse than in women as men tend to shun away from preventive medicine & are more prone to sporting trauma, injury at work & poor lifestyle habits. In younger men, subfetility is ever escalating with psychological problems, depression & other behavioural issues. To what extent should more resources be pulled together for Men's Health? How much involves hard core medical care & how much has the media given us to believe it is mainly lifestyle concerns that motivate the development services for Men's Health? It is in this Institute for Men's Health (Singapore) that these issues will be addressed as well the education of Specialists to enter into this field of Men's Health that we established this Insitution. We also aspire to educate the entire lay society & all communities at large on the importance of investing in bettering the health of our men folk so that they can contribute to their own families, their companies & places where they work, to Society as a whole & ultimately to the country where they live. Afterall the main workforce of most countires res on the male & less on the female. If the men are not healthy, how can they possibly contribute to the scope of nation building? The Institute will help formulate aspects of financing of health care for the aging male in developing Asian Countries amongst championing the issues for men in the political sphere. We will go to governments & their parliaments to be the advocate for Men's Health in each country in our part of the world. With the help of our Singapore Ministry of Health we would want Singapore to take the leadership in this field of Men's Health. This is our Mission.
